Project Overview
The project focused on stabilising the sales pipeline for a UK-based beauty eCommerce retailer offering cosmetics, haircare, fragrances, accessories, and beauty kits. Although traffic and engagement were growing, revenue and purchasing behaviour had become increasingly inconsistent.
Analysis showed that the biggest drop-off occurred between product discovery and cart, indicating that shoppers were interested but were not always confident enough to commit to a purchase.
The strategy therefore focused on improving the complete decision journey from finding the right product to evaluating its value, trusting the brand, and completing the purchase.
Smarter Product Discovery
Introduced best sellers, top-rated products, use-case categories, and comparison features to reduce decision fatigue.
Frictionless Conversion
Simplified checkout, improved mobile UX, accelerated page loads, and enabled guest checkout.
Higher-Intent Growth
Refined paid campaigns and organic content around commercial searches to attract users closer to purchase.
The Challange
The business had a strong visual presence, consistent paid media investment, growing social awareness, and a base of repeat customers. However, increasing traffic was not translating into equally consistent revenue.
The analysis identified that the core issue was not a lack of demand, but friction within the purchase decision.
Key Challenges:
- Traffic continued to grow while orders and revenue fluctuated.
- Shoppers faced too many similar products without enough guidance to choose confidently.
- Customers lacked visible proof around product effectiveness, authenticity, and real-world results.
- A five-step checkout and slower page experience created unnecessary friction.
- Paid channels accounted for a significant share of acquisition, creating a need for stronger organic growth
